Good Lemonade Day is set to make its return across the province this summer with numerous stands slated to pop up across BC to raise funds for JoeAnna’s House in Kelowna.
The 2025 event is set to take place on June 14, and thanks to a sponsorship from Laing Roofing, all hard costs associated with the event have been covered and 100% of the proceeds will be donated.
“Good Lemonade Day has been a community event that we look forward to participating in every year,” said Katie Maier, director of human resources at Laing Roofing.
“We believe in giving back to the community we've worked with for 38 years and love the idea of connecting kids to philanthropy and doing good for others in a real and tangible way. It's a win-win event that is a ton of fun with great people for a great cause.” 2025 will mark the fourth time Good Lemonade Day will be held after it was started by a group of Kelowna volunteers in 2022 as a way for children to get involved in philanthropy in a fun and rewarding way. The event has seen nearly 80 lemonade stands held each year and after raising $17,000 in the first two years, 2024 saw $26,720 raised for JoeAnna’s House.
The stands will be all across BC, including at each Prestige Hotels and Resorts property, with some stands featuring additional events such as bake sales, car washes or silent auctions.
Since opening in 2019, thousands of families from across the province have stayed at JoeAnna’s House in Kelowna while a family member has received care at Kelowna General Hospital.
“This will be our third year participating in Good Lemonade Day and it’s something that’s really close to our family’s heart,” said Salmon Arm mom of five, Kayla Vannieuwenhuizen.
“When our daughter Hattie was born at 33 weeks in 2021, we stayed at JoeAnna’s House for several weeks and the support we received there during such a challenging time was invaluable. Participating in this event allows us to give back to a place that played such a big role in our journey to where we all are today.” The deadline to register to host a lemonade stand is May 20 and all participants who register will receive a Good Lemonade Day start pack, which includes two event t-shirts, lemonade mix, balloons and a sign.
All families that hold a lemonade stand will be entered into a draw to win a family getaway prize package to their choice of any Prestige Hotels and Resorts location in BC.
