Willing 2 Ninja Grand Opening: A Celebration of Strength, Community, and Childhood Joy

On Saturday, June 7 from 12 to 3 PM, the community of Armstrong is invited to celebrate something truly special—the official Grand Opening of Willing 2 Ninja, a gym and movement space designed to empower kids to move, grow, and believe in themselves.

What started in January 2024 as a humble mobile program has blossomed into something much bigger. From running obstacle course classes through Parks and Rec to setting up and tearing down equipment at St. Joseph’s Hall, the Willing 2 Ninja team—led by founders and parents themselves, Jordy and Chelsea—have poured their hearts into creating a permanent space where kids can thrive.

And now, that dream has a home: 3395 Okanagan Street in Armstrong, a gym built by the family for the community.

A Grand Opening with Heart

Saturday’s celebration promises fun for the whole family, with highlights including:

  • 🎨 Face painting by local artist Christine

  • 🍪 Fresh cookies from the amazing girls at Udderly Ice Cream

  • 🧗‍♂️ Ninja obstacle fun for all ages

  • 🎁 Silent Auction packed with generous donations from local businesses

But this isn’t just a ribbon-cutting—it’s a reflection of a mission. All Silent Auction proceeds will go toward the “Let’s Keep Kids Moving” campaign, which has already sponsored 49 local children to attend camp this year (44 in 2023!). The initiative ensures all kids—regardless of background—have access to confidence-building, body-moving, soul-strengthening experiences.

More Than a Gym

Willing 2 Ninja is more than just a place to burn energy. It’s a youth empowerment movement disguised as obstacle course training. Through carefully designed sessions, kids of all ages build confidence, resilience, and community. The core values? Kindness, courage, and always doing your best.

Since launching, the program has impacted over 350 local youth and partnered with seven North Okanagan schools, helping children learn the power of trying, failing, and trying again—one obstacle at a time.

Why It Matters

In a world where screen time is up and physical activity is down, spaces like Willing 2 Ninja are more important than ever. They remind us that play is powerful, movement is medicine, and every child deserves a chance to shine.

So come out, celebrate, and support a space built with love—and for the love of kids.
